Invest India, in close partnership with the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA), and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) organized a webinar titled ‘New India Opportunities in Semiconductor & Electronics Manufacturing’ on Tuesday, 21 May 2024.
The primary aim of the webinar was to showcase India’s commitment to becoming a global hub for semiconductors, display manufacturing, and design. This event provided a comprehensive overview of the existing electronics and semiconductor market opportunities in India, outlined various governmental schemes, and discussed the roadmap for the creation of a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem. Additionally, it presented an excellent opportunity to leverage learnings from the established semiconductor ecosystem in Penang, which could be instrumental for our initiatives.
H.E.B N Reddy, Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Mr Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Mr Vinod Subramanian, #InvestIndia highlighted the opportunities for synergies in this sector.
Mr. Andrew Chan, Director, #MSIA spoke about the potential for beneficial partnerships. Mr. Aaroosh, Invest India made a detailed presentation to the Malaysian businesses about various schemes and support from the Govt of India and the State Governments for Malaysian businesses looking to expand into 🇮🇳.
Over 60 Malaysian companies including Micron Malaysia, GSH Precision Group, Infenics Berhad, Vitrox Berhad, and others participated showcasing interest in engaging in India’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
